Banana, Berry & Chocolate
Smoothie Bowl

Smoothie bowl with bananas, berries and chocolate pieces
If you’ve never made a smoothie bowl, try this today!
These super easy bowls are the perfect snack for you…..and kids love them too! Let the kids help add the toppings and they’ll want this treat every day!
Packed with nutrients but tastes like ice cream!

I have a Blendtec blender that works well but any strong blender will do. The Vitamix is the best choice, as they are super strong and can blend up frozen fruit without having to add liquid. That is the key to making a nice thick smoothie bowl that has the consistency of ice cream.

Banana, Berry & Chocolate Smoothie Bowl

Ingredients

  • Frozen banana pieces
  • Any other frozen fruit (strawberries, mango, blueberries, etc)
  • Milk or milk alternative
  • Toppings (fresh fruit, dark chocolate nibs, raisins, etc)

Instructions

  • Put about 2 bananas worth of frozen banana pieces in the blender. Add a cup or two of frozen fruit.
  • Depending on your blender strength, you may need to add a splash of milk. Start blending. You’ll need to stop, push the fruit down into the blade, and pulse the blender.
  • Repeat until your frozen mixture is fully blended and the blender runs smoothly. This may take multiple times opening the blender, pushing the fruit down, and blending again. Still yummy, but not really scoop-able with a spoon! This may take multiple times opening the blender, pushing the fruit down, and blending again.
  • Scoop into a bowl, add toppings, and enjoy!
